Meet Jack!

This is Jack. He is 11 years old and lives in an Eastern European orphanage. Last week I became Jack's Guardian Angel through Reece's Rainbow Adoption Ministry. Reece's Rainbow advocates for orphaned children with HIV and other special needs. As a Guardian Angel, it is my job to raise funds for Jack's adoption as well as work to find a forever family for him. I am thrilled to report that several days after I became his GA, a family committed to Jack!

This morning I received a message from Jack's new mom that told of their financial situation in regards to the adoption. You can read about their journey on their blog. This family had previously committed to adopt a teenage girl they had hosted through an orphan hosting program, but after they had invested significant time and funds, the girl changed her mind. The family is also active in the orphan hosting program and just committed a large sum of money to host an orphaned boy this summer. Due to the need to switch from the Ukraine adoption program to the Russia adoption program and the associated fees, the family needs to raise $1,000 as quickly as possible.

Jack has a Reece's Rainbow adoption fund, but that money is not available to the family until they receive their travel date. The family is currently running a fundraiser to raise immediate funds for the expenses they have encountered so that they can continue with the adoption process and bring Jack home as quickly as possible. There is also a PayPal donation button on their blog. Unfortunately, neither of these donations are tax-deductible, but they will help greatly in getting Jack home as quickly as possible.

I have a special place in my heart for Jack, who is the same age one of my children was when adopted and who is a boy. Boys wait the longest. Now that Jack's family has found him, please help make sure he doesn't have to wait any longer!

  1. I have been following Jack's story closely, he is the same age as my son. Rejoicing that his family found him and praying he is soon home with them
